Starting strong at Idube Race Track, KZN

For the first race of the season Worr Drivers entered to fine tune their equipment and sharpen their skills in this club event. Team Worr was represented by superstar drivers Gianna, Lwashu, Ashaan and Kiyaan. Drivers showed real potential in their new categories uplifting each other to bring home encouraging results.

Gianna Maxed

Gianna Pascoal returned to SA last week to prepare for the weekends race in KZN. She changed her category to Snr Max this season to take on the best of the country. Surprisingly, she qualified pole after a few test runs on a new package that was competitive out the box. Jonno Wilson, a local that is known to be fast was a great benchmark for us to know where we are with Gianna and the race package going into the season. In her first race in Snr Max, Gianna finished P2 on the day.

“We are very happy with the result, now we can do some more development before we head into the next race this weekend at Killarney.” Said Coach Wes about her efforts over the weekend.

Lwashu Climbs the ranks

Enjoying himself on track, Lwashu with a tuned package brought the thunder to KZN. His continuous development on complete show at Idube, Lwashu closed in on the front bunch with more confidence in his attacking manoeuvres. Coach Wes believes and commented that “He showed great progress. We are totally confident Lwashu is ready to take his place in the front group this season.” He ended the day in P4, 3 tenths behind the front bunch which included his teammate, Kiyaan.

Reddi for the Podium

The teammates Kiyaan Reddi and Lwashu pushed each other the entire weekend. Ashaan in his first race of the season in the Jnr Max category had an exceptional showing and enjoyed his racing. His fearless driving on a unique setup earned him starts at the front end of the grid and he ended the weekend unscathed in a P2 finish. He confidently joined his brother Kiyaan for a podium photo after an excellent display.

Kiyaan Reddi has been really working hard on and off the track to bring the highest level for the team and himself this season. Kiyaan was lighting fast all weekend and had some good battles on track with top rivals. He surprised his closest competitors with his pace during testing and the qualifiers. He showed more desire in a package he was comfortable in the whole weekend. His driving was more technical with more pace showing growth in his ability as a driver. He managed to bring home the win in his first race weekend this season.

Coach Wes said “We are extremely proud of our drivers this weekend. We will continue to develop and try get our team on the top of the podium.” This season, we look forward to seeing the exploits of all our drivers.
