The Worr returned to Killarney for another action-packed weekend. Team Worr was without Gianna as she represents us in another FIA Academy round. The Reddi brothers joined a hot line-up of drivers from CPT including Jesse, Gaheem, Micheal, Jose and the newest Worrior, Nano Nel. “Some highs and some lows but a descent showing by all the drivers” comments Coach Wes.
Jesse Struggles
Jesse Swart had a difficult start to the week that ended his podium aspirations before the last day of testing. Jesse found himself with a snapped chassis that severely affected his pace over the weekend. With a new kart, Jesse will look forward to putting in solid performances for the rest of the season.
Gaheem’s Progresses at Regionals
Gaheem had a descent weekend showing improved pace. He began well in testing and practice, but his fitness caught up with him. As the weekend carried on his struggles became clear. His pace was there and quite thrilling, but the consistency started deteriorating. With more training, Gaheem will be one to watch in the later parts of the season.
Mike roks killarney
The new Worrior, Michael Danks put up a show for coach Wes at Killarney. The New Jnr Max driver that just changed classes rocked Killarney this weekend with the fastest time for his category. He showed brilliant pace throughout the weekend and earned himself a P3 finish.
The rise of Ashaan
Not to be outdone by the new teammate, Ashaan showed off his growth and development through the season to the Killarney Regional crowd. He consistently maintained front level pace to contend for the lead. He started amongst the lead pack of the weekend, finished P2 in heat 2 and earned himself a P3 podium finish for the weekend. “Ashaan continues to grow with experience and we hope to continue the momentum with more podium finishes this season.” coach Wes stated about the fantastic performance.
Jose close to the summit
No rok unturned by Kiaan
Coming off a difficult weekend at VKC, Kiyaan Reddi looked to drive a clean race in Killarney. And, for the first race in a while, Kiyaan had no issues whatsoever. He showed his excellent potential when everything goes well and now with some momentum going forward, we can finally see him occupy the highest step regularly.
Nano first time around
Nano Nel joined Killarney Regionals for his first race ever. The rookie driver in clubman dazzled the crowd, his supporters and team coaches with a brilliant performance in his season opener in Killarney. He led the races with relative ease as he came around each corner ahead of the pack. He will be entered into a different class for the next race as coach Wes believes he would benefit from the experience before finalising his eventual category.
“Overall, team Cape Town is strong in numbers. We’ve got 10 good drivers, and we look forward to producing some champions out of them very soon.” Concludes Coach Wes.
