our MSA4 team in South Africa

These cars are built in South Africa and are similar in concept to a Formula 4 car, but they’re significantly more affordable to build and run. For us, it’s the perfect entry step into single-seater racing. This year we have two rookie drivers: Gianna and Kaji, both stepping into the car for the first time. So our mindset for this season is very open. It’s a learning year for us as a team.

We want to understand what our drivers need in terms of mileage, preparation, and development. The goal is simple — give them as much seat time as possible and allow them to grow. At the same time, we’re already working with investors to build our own Formula 4 team, which we expect to announce in the coming months — including where it will be based. That will be the next step in building a complete pathway for our drivers.

South Africa gives us a great opportunity to do cost-effective mileage, which is extremely important in driver development. Our expectations this year are simple: we want to learn, develop, and build the foundation for what comes next.

Gianna has also signed with the More Than Equal initiative connected to the F1 Academy, which is a fantastic step forward for her career. We believe strongly in her, and we believe in all of our drivers. We have some incredible young talent coming through. But what we’re doing now is becoming more strategic. That’s where Karting Africa, the MSA4 program, and the future Formula 4 team all connect together.

Closing vision

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes. We’re not only working with teams and sponsors — we’re working with governments, diplomats, and national leaders who all share the same vision of developing motorsport in Africa.

This is not a short-term project. It’s about creating a system that will benefit the next generation and the generation after that. I’m here to stay, and I’m here to make change. Everything we’ve said as a team, we’re delivering on step by step. It doesn’t happen overnight — but the change is happening. And I truly believe that we will see an African driver in Formula One.
