Muhammad and Wian receive Protea colours for their track achievements in 2024

We are proud to announce that Muhammad and Wian from the Worr Motorsport Race Team were honoured with Protea Colours from Motorsport South Africa. The two drivers had a stellar season reaching topping the ranks in SA and finishing in the top 10 internationally.

Motorsport South Africa (MSA) held the Annual MSA National Awards ceremony at Emperors Palace on the 1st of December. The prestigious event honours the outstanding achievements of South Africa’s motorsport community. Wian Boshoff started go karting at the age of 4. Now 14, he was honoured with protea colours for his exceptional season along with team mate and Five-time South African champion, Muhammad “Mo” Wally.

“I found out about it in November. It was probably one of my proudest achievements as I am the only person in the history of my family to accomplish such an achievement” said a humble Wian as he tapered down from the excitement of the event. With a packed 2025 Muhammad and Wian aim to continue the drive into single seater as they take on the challenging world of F4.

“Karting is the go to place for African kids to start their journey to F1” was a reminder from Coach Wes when talking about Future Champions such as Wian and Mo. At ages 14 and 15 he believes they have the potential and drive to earn an F1 seat in the coming years. With circuits having representatives from the country it is not impossible to believe that one of these excellent drivers would have their hat in the ring for an F1 seat when the “Travelling Circus” finally makes its return to South Africa.

The future of African motorsport is bright, and it’s exciting to watch these future champions rise through the ranks!
