Round 6 of Champions of the future was held at Al Forsan International Karting Circuit from Monday the 2nd to Wednesday the 4th of December 2024. The championships drew to a close as the last race of the F1 calendar at Yas Marina is about to take place over the weekend. Karting has been the starting point of virtually all F1 drivers. Champions of the Future proved the ideal opportunity for aspiring drivers to showcase their talent with F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff present.

Drivers such as current world champion Max Verstappen, former champs Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna got their start in go karting. The opening episode of Senna – A show on Netflix – shows a young Ayrton Senna getting his first go kart in his father’s factory before advancing to his first race and his eventual career in single seaters. Scouts find talents like Senna from local and international competitions such as Champions of the Future. The competition has provided a platform for potential world champions to race on a regular basis, testing their skills against only the very best from different corners of the world.

Champions of the Future is a direct pipeline for karting females to join the F1 Academy Program. The website states that the three top female drivers in the Seniors category will also be invited to an official F1 Academy test at the end of the 2024 season helping develop a pathway for karting talent to progress to F1 Academy.

Gianna Pascoal competed at Round 5 and 6 of Champions of the Future in the UAE. As a young female driver, she could join the F1 Academy Driver Program to develop her racing. The F1 Academy provides young talent in junior categories with access to the fundamental level of experience needed to progress to Formula 3 and join the Road to F1.
“Her potential is great, and she would really shine.” Is the belief of Coach Wesleigh as he spoke about the possibility of Gianna joining the program. The program was developed to support young female drivers. Coach Wesleigh, Team Worr and The Pascoal family all believe in Gianna’s potential. The unwavering support is based on her results as she has consistently rated highly during race weekends, she’s taken part in.

It is only a matter of time that Gianna Pascoal makes the F1 Academy and Worr Motorsport is proud of all her achievements.
