Killarney Worr
With the season now underway Worr Drivers produced another good showing at Killarney International Raceway. The fierce mini-Max field for 2025 gives this generation of South African drivers a huge advantage of skill development so we can be on par with the rest of the world on race craft. The field of Drivers in Killarney was no different.
Kiyaan, Lwashu, Jose
The Mini Max drivers went to Worr this weekend in a super competitive field. One long train from the front to the back made the racing super exciting. Kiyaan settled into the front bunch with a p4 and got stronger as the weekend progressed. Lwashu and Jose handled themselves well in the middle field. With less experience in the mini max class, both held position and kept pace with the train to earn respectable finishes for the weekend.
Coach Wes happy with the performance said “All three drivers drove a solid race and fought hard to keep positions in the pack. Overall, we happy with our mini drivers but there is definitely still room for improvement.”
Blast to the Front
Gianna was at her dominant best blasting straight to the front of the field with a heat win. In their first outing together the pairing of Gianna and Jesse showed extraordinary race intelligence and teamwork. Jesse was super impressive in his first snr max outing, not far behind Gianna to finish in a Worr 1,2. Both were comfortably in contention right up front. From this first showing it is likely that this pairing will be one to beat for the rest of the season.
Our rookie snr drivers
Slammet and Tristan made their first appearance for team Worr in Killarney. They were battling hard on circuit as they learn the process. They couldn’t find gaps to climb up the rankings with a more experienced field ahead and continued to struggle to gain positions throughout the weekend. As they grow into their race craft worr will continue to support them on their journey forward.
Jnr max Rookies
Ashaan and Raffi put on a stellar performance with a p4 and p5 finish in heat 3. The Team was super impressed with the duo and are excited to see what they will bring to the track at the national in a months’ time.
Overall the Worr drivers performed amicably over the course of the weekend bringing a lot of surprise results. From the rookies to the seasoned, the Worr Team looks forward to a season filled with driver growth and development.
