A vision for a new generation
Lewis Hamilton, you have spoken passionately about the importance of creating greater opportunities for youg people across Africa and opening the doors to motorsport for those who have talent, determination and ambition to make it to the top. Today we want to say this directly to you: the future of African motorsport is being built right here, right now.
What was once only a dream for many young African racing drivers is beginning to take shape. The opportunity to discover talent, develop skills and create genuine pathways into motorsport is no longer something we have to imagine. It is becoming a reality . And this is only the beginning.
From a dream to a moment
For years, Africa has been home to incredible talent, passionate motorsport communities and young people who dream of becoming professional racing drivers. Yet for many, the journey has been limited by a lack of access, resources, opportunities and structired pathways into the sport. We believe that talent should not be determined by geography.
A young driver growing up in Africa should have the opportunity to dream just as big as anyone anywhere in the world. They should have access to competitive racing, proper development, professional guidance and opportunities to showcase what they are capable of. That belief is at the heart of what we are building.
The Karting Africa series is coming
The Karting Africa Series is on its way to Africa- and with it comes the beginning of an exciting new chapter for grassroots motorsport across the continent. This is not simply another racing series. It represents an opportunity to create a platform whwer young drivers can begin their journey, gain valuable experience, compete against some of the best emerging talent and take the first steps towards a future in motorsport. Karting has always been one of the foundations of racign driver’s journey. It teaches discipline, racecraft, consistency, decision- making and resilience. By strengthening karting across Africa, we can strengthen the future of African motorsport as a whole.
Building the next generation
Every professional racing driver starts somewhere. Behind every champion is a first lap. A first race. A first podium. A first set of racing gloves. A first moment when they realised, “Maybe I can actually do this.”
Our goal is to help create more of those moments for young African drivers. We want to see children and young people from across the continent given the opportunity to discover motorsport, develop their abilities and compete in an environment that challenges them to become better — both on and off the track.
The next generation should not have to leave Africa to discover what they are capable of.
A JOURNEY WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey. There are moments in life when you realise that you are witnessing something bigger than yourself- something that has the potential to impact people you may never even meet. For us, this is one of those moments. Thank you, Jesus for the privilege of being part of this journey . We believe that the work being done today can create opportunities that will last long beyond us.
The beginning of a new chapter
The Karting Africa Series is only beginning. There is still so much work to be done. More countries to reach. More young drivers to discover. More circuits to develop. More families to inspire. More partners to bring into the movement.
Tomorrow, we hope to see African drivers competing on the biggest stages in motorsport – carrying the flags of their countries and inspiring millions of young people watching from home.
